For the 2008 fall season, DirecTV rolls out the red carpet.  The Red Zone Channel is now in HD, and so is virtually every other NFL game on DirecTV. And with the new Game Mix, DirecTV ensures that enthusiasts won’t miss a single play. Clearly, devoted fans have no choice but to go satellite.

With the recent blowout sales of HD-DVD players for $99, it seems the format has received a quite a boost. Over 90,000 HD-DVD players were sold in 3 days according to Video Business. Considering the Sony BDP-S300 has sold that many units since it was introduced, Toshiba has a lot to be proud of. Who know where the format war will lead the industry, but it looks like Sony and Toshiba aren’t going down without a fight.
